Patrick J. Pickett, a partner in ADM’s Capital Region office, recently obtained a defense verdict in a slip-and-fall case venued in Albany County Supreme Court.  The plaintiff, a mover/truck driver, claimed that he tripped on black ice in the driveway of our client, a residential homeowner.  Through fact and expert testimony, Mr. Pickett argued that his client had no notice of the alleged ice/condition which was in fact caused by accumulated snow/ice from the Plaintiff’s own truck.  Plaintiff’s counsel asked the jury for a damages award of $1.65 million, However, the jury deliberated for only 15 minutes and unanimously found in favor of ADM’s clients.
